Obamacare must be repealed. It is already a drain on our economy and will become crushing once fully engaged.
Instead of treating health care and health insurance as one and the same, the two need to be decoupled.
Health insurance must be allowed to compete for customers across state lines. Obamacare instead lets large health insurance companies like Blue Cross use the IRS as a collection agency, as a means to generate a state-enforced monopoly.
Health care, on the other hand, must not be treated as a commodity. It is a service, provided by doctors and nurses who worked hard to learn their science. If price controls and other anti-liberty methods are used to drive down the cost of their services, it only reduces the number of people drawn to this noble service.
One of Congress’s mandates in the U.S. Constitution is to insure that interstate commerce is not inhibited in any way. Today, not being able to buy health insurance over state lines inhibits interstate commerce. Congress is constitutionally obligated to address this issue.
As your Congressman, I would vote to repeal Obamacare and work for legislation to bring true healthcare reform to America.
